On August 23, 2009, Bro. John Seay was voted in as the new pastor of Frederick Baptist Church. Pastor Seay received Jesus Christ as his Saviour when he was twelve years old while living in Wisconsin. As a 19 year old, he moved to his birth state, Kentucky, where he answered the call to preach in April, 1990. The following year in October of 1991, he married Alesha Adams of Bloomfield, KY, daughter of Evangelist Joe Adams. They have been happily married for over 20 years, and they have four children, Sarah, Cynthia, John Mark, and Karissa.
Over the past 20 years Pastor Seay has been serving in full-time ministry. For the first four years of his ministry he served as an Assistant Pastor at his home church, Nelson County Baptist Church, Bardstown, KY, Pastor Darrell Goodlett. In January, 1996, he was brought on staff by Clays Mill Road Baptist Church, Lexington, KY, Dr. Jeff Fugate, Pastor. He served with Dr. Fugate for over nine years, including being the founding Dean of Students and Vice President of Commonwealth Baptist College, which was founded in 1999. Along with having served as an Assistant, Pastor Seay was privileged to have been the pastor of two congregations in Kentucky.
Pastor Seay had this to say about being the Pastor of Frederick Baptist Church, “My family and I are more than honored on becoming a part of this wonderful church family. We recognize that we are inheriting a truly miraculous church with a rich history of God’s blessings. God has placed some of His most choice servants here at FBC! This is a very special place with a very special purpose. I am very proud of our past, very excited about our present, and very motivated about our future! I believe that Frederick Baptist Church is going to continue to make a big difference for Christ in a big way over the many years to come! As Pastor, I am looking forward to our journey and the many more precious souls that are going to be added to His kingdom and our church family.”
